Tuesday afternoon was filled with accolades as the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce held its 76th Annual Community Awards and Installation of Officers before a packed house in the HSUMD building.

The emcee was Natalie Dorrell, Director of Public Relations and Institutional Advancement for Cerro Coso Community College.

“I am honored to be here with all of you to recognize the hard work and extraordinary efforts of those who serve our community,” Dorrell said.

Numerous prizes were awarded to the following people:

Company of the Year awards went to Ann Rizzardini of Red Rock Books and Linda Voigt of Memory Lane Fabrics & Quilts.

The community service award was presented to Chris and Gina Noble of The Salvation Army.

The Entrepreneur Award went to Nick Wakley of Raw Media.

The Innovation Award went to Ray Hocker of Sierra Photography.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Doug Lueck.

The beautification award went to Kyle Blades.

The Youth Award went to ZJ Hoffman.

The Ambassador’s Award went to Jamie Coffee.

The President’s Award went to Jamie Coffee, Jan Bennett and Tim Smith.

Outgoing board members included Sarah Bradford and Beverly Wagner.

The new installation of officers included Chris Hill, Janis Bottorff, Natalie Dorrell, Christian Salviejo, Bernie Mondragon, Debbie Benson, Chip Holloway, Nick Wakley, Nancy Pace and Daryl Silberberg.

“I want to take a moment to thank our outgoing directors (Sarah Bradford, Beverly Wagner and Michelle LeBlanc) and thank them for their hard work,” incoming chairman Chris Hill said.

Deputy Mayor Solomon Rajaratnam introduced the new council members.

“It is my pleasure to install the 2022-23 board members in the Chamber of Commerce…who have helped boost our economy,” Rajaratnam said.

Hill also thanked members of the President’s Circle: AltaOne Federal Credit Union, The Daily Independent, Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union, Indian Wells Valley Drive-Thru Dairy, Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, Stafford’s, T-Mobile, Coso Operating Company, Grocery Outlet , Hampton Inn. & Suites, IntelliBridge, SpringHill Suites and The Swap Sheet.

The presenting sponsor was SoCal Edison, with gold sponsorship by the IWV Economic Development Corporation.

Rose Fusco was recognized for providing the meal for the event.
