A major fire broke out at a cafe, a bookstore and two training centers in the Bhanwarkuan area on Friday morning, in which property worth thousands of euros was destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
A fire official said the fire started from a cafe near Vishnupuri settlement and girls residing at a nearby hostel spotted heavy smoke from there at around 6:58 a.m. and informed the local police and fire department. The flames spread quickly and reached an adjacent bookstore and two training classrooms.
Locals came out and tried to put out the flames but to no avail. Three firefighters arrived on the scene, but the flames then spread to other stores. Firefighters began their operation and used over 3 lakh liters of water to bring the blaze under control. It took more than six hours to completely extinguish the flames.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established. However, the fire is believed to have started due to an electrical short.

In one of the coaching classrooms, 4 ACs, 3 computers, 15 fans and furniture were gutted. Furniture, computers and other items were destroyed in the fire at the other training center.
