AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–E2open Parent Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:ETWO), the SaaS-connected supply chain platform with the largest multi-enterprise network, announces that it has expanded its partnership with Surge Transportation, a digital freight brokerage company providing real-time pricing and optimization of routing guides for companies that ship goods on the road. Through its provisioning API and Carrier Highlight capability within e2open’s Transportation Management System (TMS) application, Surge will provide rate optimization and dry and refrigerated asset capacity for e2open shippers in the consumer packaged goods vertical and their inbound shippers.
The Carrier Highlight innovation is a new core feature enabled by e2open’s multi-tenant environment that provides all shippers with an instant comparison of real-time carrier rate options against contract and spot rates currently available on their network. E2open customers will have access to real-time rates from Surge during the bidding process, with the ability to select guaranteed spot rates backed by reliable capacity with 100% acceptance.
“Nearly every logistics company competes for primary supplier space, leaving shippers with few reliable and valuable options when looking for alternate capacity,” said Omar Singh, president of Surge Transportation. “Our goal is to continue to meet this market need, strategically providing shippers with excess capacity and rate optimization when their primaries are unavailable. Surge’s Pricing API and Capacity Partners introduces pricing optimization during the waterfall bidding process and also removes the volatility of traditional spot market experiences where pricing, capacity and acceptance of offers can be unpredictable. Our longstanding partnership with e2open will help customers manage these exceptions more successfully through a seamless experience – so senders can focus their energy on running their business.
E2open’s Carrier Highlight provides all TMS users with access to the list of selected carriers, even if the carrier is not part of the shipper’s network. The shipper can seamlessly board the selected carrier to benefit from the current tariff reduction and use the new partner carrier for future load savings. Additionally, network carriers are exposed to a greater number of shippers.
“We are focused on continuously adding value for our customers, and our partner ecosystem is an important part of that value and our customers’ success,” said Peter Hantman, chief operating officer at e2open. “Our shippers not only benefit from a market-leading TMS within e2open’s connected supply chain platform, but also from an extensive network of carriers and data that enables more efficient movement of goods. efficient, profitable and sustainable for the world’s leading brands. »
