The annual Wilton Chamber of Commerce Holiday Walk will be held on Friday, December 2! Along with the City of Wilton, Wilton Fire Department, Wilton Volunteers Ambulance Corps., Wilton Kiwanis Club and several downtown retailers and businesses, all are invited to join in the festivities beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Get into the holiday spirit as you warm up in front of a roaring bonfire and partake in marshmallow roast and hot chocolate provided by the Wilton Kiwanis Club at Schenck’s Island. Head to the Town Green to be enchanted by the buskers and dance performances of the Wilton Conservatory of Dance. Families can enjoy crafts and treats provided by our local non-profit organizations and at 5:30 p.m. we will officially kick off the Christmas season with our tree lighting ceremony.

In addition to the festivities at the Town Green and Schenck’s Island, Wilton Library staff will greet visitors from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. outside their main entrance. They will be giving out special goodie bags with treats, while supplies last. They invite all visitors to buy
gifts and stockings at their wonderful holiday book sale in the gallery. All proceeds benefit the library. For the highlight of the evening, bring all the youngsters together as we continue the tradition with the arrival of Santa Claus at the Town Green ushered in by the Wilton Fire Department 5 ladder truck. Children of all ages can visit Santa at the gazebo where they can share their holiday wishes and receive a special treat from Santa starting at 5:45 p.m.

Finally, before heading home, head to Wilton Congregational Church (70 Ridgefield Road Wilton, CT) as Music on the Hill presents its annual holiday concert, “Sounds of the Season,” at 7:30 p.m. The concert features the Jubilate Ringers, an 18-member handbell
together, and the 30-voice Festival Chorus, made up of singers from across the region. The concert will include selections for Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as lullabies and winter songs.

Celebrate the magic of the holidays and join in the festivities with our local retailers, restaurants and businesses. We encourage the community to walk around town, visit, shop and enjoy the generous hospitality of these local businesses that evening!

The Board of Trade would like to particularly thank the merchants and businesses that organize such festive and warm receptions in their stores. Community celebrations like these help residents get into the holiday spirit and kick off the season! Don’t forget to shop, dine and support our local businesses!
